APV Fall 2011 Lobby Trip to Washington D.C.

On Thursday, September 22nd and Friday September 23rd, the Alliance for Progressive Values will be visiting Washington D.C. to lobby our representatives on various matters. We'll be on both the House and Senate sides and we'll be talking about the environment, clean energy, election reform, anti-animal fighting legislation and protecting Social Security and Medicare among other issues. We're inviting interested APV members to join us at the Capitol.

We'll be getting an early start Thursday morning so we ask that you come to the D.C. area on Wednesday evening, the 21st of September. (Believe me, you don't want to drive to DC Thursday morning). We'll be useing this form to help get a handle on who needs a ride and a place to stay.

We'll be at the Capitol early Thursday morning and throughout the day, so think about comfortable shoes. And, of course, dress appropriately (business casual, no t-shirts, flip flops, cargo shorts etc.).

Thursday night we're planning a "fun" group activity.

We'll also be on the Hill Friday morning, September 23rd, and then we'll cut everyone loose to either head home or visit the local sights.
We're looking forward to some hands on democracy with lawmakers and their staffs, and we think this is a great way for APV members to "give our values a voice". Please join us.

The cut off date for registration is September 14th. After that we might still be able to work something out, but it would be better if you can let us know ahead of time.

We'll be using this form to set up accommodations and transportation as well.

Cheers,
Scott Price
